Stop-motion: Small tricks, big movies!
  • Workshop leader: CapturedTales of Bastionik
  • Language: German
  • Costs: free of charge
  • Type: Workshop
  • Time: 13:00-14:30

Making films, but without expensive cameras, huge equipment or a complete film crew? Sounds good? Then stop-motion is just your thing!

In this workshop, I will show you how to make your own little stop-motion film using simple tools and a large dose of creativity. It's not about perfection, but about having fun, experimenting and discovering a unique film technique.

We start with a brief insight into the world of stop-motion: What is it actually? What cool films are there? And what do you have to pay attention to so that the whole thing looks really good in the end? Then we grab scissors, paper and plasticine and make simple props and characters for our mini film projects.

We then put what we have learned directly into practice: using a free cell phone app, we bring our characters to life and shoot short stop-motion clips in small teams. At the end, we watch the finished works together - and celebrate our first steps as filmmakers!

All you need is a cell phone or tablet and a desire to get creative. So grab your device, bring a little imagination and off you go!

  • Costs: free of charge
  • Type: Workshop

Do you love games and want to design your own worlds, characters or creatures - but don't know where to start? This beginners' workshop will give you a first insight into the world of game concept art. Together we will explore how an idea becomes an atmospheric image that serves as a template for game designers and 3D artists.

We will talk about sources of inspiration, collecting references, initial sketches and the creative process behind them - without any pressure to achieve perfection. You don't need any previous knowledge, just curiosity, a desire to draw (including digitally) and fun with games. Whether you work analog with pen and paper or digitally with a tablet: You can get creative here and design your own first concepts.

At the end, you will not only have your own first concept image, but also the knowledge of how you can further develop your creative process - perhaps for your own game project!

Suitable for: Beginners from approx. 14 years

What you can bring with you: Sketchbook or tablet (if available - materials are also available on site)
