LEVEL UP - The Gaming Festival publishes the first details of the program for the fourth edition of the Salzburg gaming event. Which new highlights await us and which program points are celebrating a comeback? Here you can find all the information that has been finalized so far.
The 2024 edition of LEVEL UP will take place on June 29 and 30, 2024 at Messezentrum Salzburg. After three successful years, with 2,500, 6,500 and 9,500 visitors, the organizers are trying to break the 10,000 mark this year. Tickets are now available and the first program points announced will make gamers' hearts beat faster.
Returning highlights from the last years
The most popular program items are back again this year. The beating heart of the festival is the Mainstage, where nerve-wracking matches and exciting tournaments will be held. Here you can look forward to Morekats Mayhem #5 - the ever-popular Rocket League Competition, the ESSL VALORANT tournament powered by MCI: the entrepreneurial school and the Super Smash spectacle LEVEL UP: BREAKOUT.
Letsplay4Charity provides a livestream from the festival and raises money for charity. Over 10,000 euros have been raised in each of the last few years.
The cosplayers were perceived by many visitors as a special highlight. That's why they will once again have their own area this year - the Artist Alley - and conquer the main stage with the Cosplay Contest.
The festival area is divided into the Gaming Zone, Retro Area, Artist Alley, uRage Free2Play Area, the area for tabletop and trading card games, and the Indie Games Area presented by FH Salzburg. The Gaming Zone is all about trying things out and playing games yourself. In the Retro Area, you can also play games - the legendary games from the early days of video games. Here you'll find well-known classics and gems you've never heard of. The Artist Alley is all about cosplay and anime. Artists and vendors present their work and invite you to immerse yourself in a fairytale world. The uRage Free2Play Area offers you the ultimate multiplayer experience with the latest Free2Play titles. In the Indie Games Area presented by FH Salzburg, you will meet game developers presenting their latest works.
That alone would be enough reasons to get a ticket, but there are also new points...
New at LEVEL UP 2024
For the first time in the history of LEVEL UP, there is the Raiffeisen Club Community Stage, where the focus is on participation. Numerous tournaments will take place here, in which young and old can take part. These include Epic Moment - Beat The Pro, a FORUM 1 e-soccer tournament, the Virtual Dojo - Fighting Grounds, a retro games tournament and the LEVEL UP edition of The Amazing Nerdquiz, where you can put your knowledge to the test and win great prizes.
There are also two new additions to the mainstage. The first of these is SheRivals: Queens of Austria. The best female players from German-speaking countries will battle it out in League of Legends. The second new addition to the program is a Counter Strike 2 tournament. CS2 is the new edition of the eSports classic Counter Strike, which has been one of the most-played competitive titles for decades.
For the first time, you will also find a dedicated Fighting Games Area in the hall, where beat 'em ups - from Super Smash Bros to Street Fighter to Guilty Gear and more - will be played.
LEVEL UP 2024 promises to be another highlight among the German-speaking gaming events this year. For all those who not only come to play, but are perhaps looking for a new or first job, important companies from the industry will be presenting themselves and recruiting new employees. A visit to LEVEL UP might just be the start of your dream job.
