After the successful debut in summer 2021, LEVEL UP is going into the second round from July 1-2, 2022. Renewed all around, the Salzburg Gaming & eSports Festival presents a new vision and opens its doors to a wider audience and new ideas. Tickets are available now on levelup-salzburg.at/tickets .
What can visitors expect at LEVEL UP?
LEVEL UP expands and becomes a two-day festival with more space for new and established things: more games, more exhibitors and of course more audience. To accommodate this change, LEVEL UP is moving - from the Salzburg Arena to the directly adjacent exhibition center. For the first time there will be a division into four large areas: The Gaming Zone, the Mainstage, the LEVEL UP LAN and the FSK18+ Area.
Gaming Zone: Explore a gaming world between nostalgia and innovation
The Gaming Zone attracts all fans of gaming and eSports with a wide range of offers. While legendary titles from the past are celebrated in the Retro Area, connoisseurs get their money's worth in the Indie Area and innovation seekers in the Virtual Reality Area. In addition, you'll find the eSports Area, a dedicated streaming area, the Gamers Finest Tabletop Area & Card Corner, the Gaming Market, the Food Market, a series of Gaming Business Talks as well as the International Drone Masters and a Cosplay Area.
The Mainstage: the stage eSports deserves in Austria
On the Mainstage you will find the big program highlights of LEVEL UP. The finals of on- & offline tournaments, but also new accents like DJ sessions. With the right preparation, both professional teams and visitors can play their way onto the main stage and show whether they have what it takes to stand out in front of the audience. In addition, a cooperation with Letsplay4Charity brings the positive energy of the gaming community to where it is needed.
LEVEL UP LAN: The Revival of LAN-parties
2022 for the first time, the LEVEL UP LAN invites you to play together. Here, the most popular titles can be played in an open tournament with the goal of reaching the main stage. LEVEL UP LAN means multiplayer. Whether with or against each other makes no difference. Registration for the LAN takes place in advance and participation requires a separate ticket.
FSK18+ Area: No place for banana peels
Shooters and fighting games are among the most popular genres, both in gaming and eSports. But some of the titles are not for the faint of heart. The FSK18+ area is the place for all those who like realistic action or are looking for games that are usually played behind closed doors. Teams, orgs, players and fans of games that are not released for a youth audience meet here.
Why you shouldn't miss LEVEL UP
The organizers of the Messezentrum Salzburg and the agency Rookies at Work are all about bringing the scene from the virtual space together offline. No matter if you are an eSports organization, a hobby gamer or a gamer newbie, after two pandemic years visitors can look forward to the most diverse offer the gaming scene in Austria has seen so far. You can meet friends and stars of the scene, play together at will and experience innovations from the gaming world and beyond.
Some partners are already on board: A1, Backforce, be quiet!, FH Salzburg, Freaks4U, Gamers Finest, GET systems: Global Event Technologies, Letsplay4Charity, Ority, OWNED/Stream.tv, Salzburg AG and Sharkoon are just a few of them. The improved division into several theme-specific areas and more time on two event days will make it even easier for visitors to enjoy LEVEL UP to the fullest.
